As we all know that 8th of March is linked in our mind’s to what we call International Women’s Day; some of us celebrates this day and just congrats each women in their life as a habit, others don’t even give any care to that day and let it just pass in their life as an ordinary one and others go out and celebrate in the streets but this custom mainly don’t happen in our country Egypt.
Maybe because we don’t know why this day is important and Especially women don’t know her value and how much she should be appreciated for
being a woman! Or to be clear we don’t
even have any curious to know the reason for it’s celebration or why it’s a
remarkable day, a day in which the world admits the women's great achievements and
support her participation in different fields, so why don’t we give a look at
the reasons for the celebration of this special day;
The celebration of this day comes after the convening of the
first conference for the International Democratic Women’s Union that held in Paris in 1945.
In 1856 A' hundreds of women go out on the streets of New
York city to protest against the inhuman conditions that they were forced to
work in, on 8th of March in 1908 a hundreds of female textile workers
return back to protest in New York streets carrying pieces of bread and
bouquets of roses.
The demonstration of bread and roses shapes in 8th
of march a passionate feminist movement in US, and then the celebration starts
on that day as a special day for American women to commemorate the New York demonstrations
in 1909, and in 1977 the International Organization released a decision that
calls all countries in the world to choose a day on the year to celebrate women
in, and the majority chooses 8th of march and here it is.
