Dr. Foley discussed a very significant issue that is the effectiveness of new media in communication Process in general and in Journalism In Particular ..
According to Dr. Foley's vast experience , he Mentioned that at the early beginnings of his career as a reporter there wasn't any place for new media at that time . he worked all days sending e-mails about main events and news of the day ..
He Started his speech by drawing a comparison between new media nowadays and media in the old days .The newspaper maintained its value for quite a longtime in the old days next to Television and Radio,nowadays newspaper turns-out to be a free material posted on social media with fake news losing its worthiness and credibility .
Dr.Foley Stressed on the fact of nowadays Social Media especially Facebook and Twitter due to their familiarity to each and everyone of us . He was quoted as saying that :
" Facebook has changed the debate frontier as it played a significant role in spreading democracy , yet as a Platform not as a media source of information "
He Stressed that people change to improve Technology not technology change people..technology is just a Fantasy ..
He Ended his Words by advising us to read especially newspapers to become more educated people and to possess the notion and culture of making reasonable analysis .
