Will Journalism Survive...?
Misr University For Science and Technology hosted Prof. Michael Foley who is a Professor at Dublin University to attend a conference for mass media students last Wednesday, 15/3/2017 at 11 o'clock.
Dr. Mohammed Rashad and Dr. Amani Omar welcomed him warmly with a large number of students.
Prof. Michael talked about journalism in general but he specified the relation between Facebook, twitter and journalism, and how can people get their news now.
He also discussed how can a journalist be ethical and the criteria of the good journalist that he should have honesty in what he writes and not get paid for it, he should be objective, and can analysis the problems.and he said that people are now directed to social media to read news because they saw that news can be more honest and more freely to write and they can write a comment.
He also said that Facebook is necessary for diplomacy and can effect the world, and he insist that people can change everything not technology.
At the end of the conference Prof. Michael opened a question and answer debate and there were a lot of students who asked him some questions and he answered all of them.
