Traditional media vs New media .

A seminar was held in misr university for science and technology under the topic of new media which is an important topic to be discussed for the students in order for them to learn and develope a new meaning for new media . The guest of the seminar was professor Michael foley from Dublin Institute of technology he used to be a print journalist , he
worked as a reporter for years .

professor Michael foley was recieved by two of the most important professors from the faculty of media
Dr.mohamed rashad and Dr. amany omar .

Dr. foley discussed with the students how to be a professional journalist . by telling them that being a professional journalist needs practice just like musicians , musicians need to paractice in order to provide a great performance and just like musicians a journalist needs audience as well .

"Technology made everything possible now" Dr. Foley said, now you can set up a brilliant magazine that comes out every week and it will cost you nothing .

" what they called in the past new media is not new media anymore it is called online media it is actually the only media this generation know " he added .

Technology made it easy for anyone to be a journalist you dont have to study or go to a university in order to be a journalist . now anyone can write a blog or send out a tweet for everyone to see. it wasn't that easy in the past .

The only isssue about everyone posting whatever the want to post is the existence of fake news , news lost it's credibility .

When fake news became all over the internet people were aware of that so instead of just reading any news they only read news coming from people who they trust .

Eventually to be become a professional journalist , you need to be honest , people tend to know when someone is lying . you need to win their hearts and minds by telling the truth and stating facts and then only then you would achieve your dream by becoming a brilliant journalist
