The lack of a good traffic system in Egypt especially in Giza leads to lots of accidents which could have been avoided if there was a supervision by the governorate over the streets.
At Friday's morning a car crashed into the middle island of AlHaram street and crossed over to the other side breaking a lamppost and a water pipe which drowned the whole street later, and because of the cutting tires the car couldn't move an inch to even settle back to it's position, which blocked the whole street and caused more traffic.
Fortunately the bank's security called the police fast, and some citizens helped settling down the car to take it aside the road in order to release the traffic caused by the accident.
After couple of hours the police came with a tractor to pull the car and charged the car's driver with 5000 for the lamppost broken and 5000 for the water pipe, disregarding the whole mess and that the Governorate doesn't do it's job, and just letting the streets without observation.
There is a Serious and major problem here, there are no traffic lights, no traffic cops, no one to take fines so careless drivers are just everywhere, the microbuses stops at the middle of the street to take a passenger or otherwise, all of that causes more traffic that has no end. you can talk up to two hours just to pass from Haram to giza and vise versa.
The governorate should discuss removing the governer from his position and nominate another one to improve the governorate and espescially Faisal and AlHaram ,which is a very important touristic street, especially these days, as many public figures came across the world just to see the pyramids, So imagine them crossing by the streets and seeing this mess all around.
